Evolution of rates for autonomous uses and materials
Evolve the rates to be able to continue the tailor-made activity
Evolve the rates to be able to continue the tailor-made activity
You have already heard us talk about it, either verbally or in our posts: we are constantly trying to find the right balance, to make the Affûtés accessible to as many people as possible, while at the same time allowing us to find an economic balance that allows the project to be sustainable and to continue to develop new ideas.
Covid, for us too, has created constraints (extra material and limitation of the number of participants). We had already changed our group workshop rates accordingly.
But in the field of customized projects, the price had not evolved since our beginnings, and we are not yet able to make an economic balance. Nevertheless, this activity is very important to us, and we do not want to abandon it, because it is part of the DNA of Les Affûtés.
We are therefore changing the rates, to allow this activity to continue and to allow everyone to continue to create.
Coaching time (your time+woodworker coach time) goes from 10$ to 12$ per 15min, which means 48$/h
For the times in autonomy, we evolve thus, trying to limit the increase for those who come a lot:
These rates will be implemented on June 1. So, to save you money, you will be able to purchase hour packs before that date at the current rate.
The price of wood has increased a lot with the pandemic. We all hope that it will go down quickly.
But in the meantime, we have been working hard to find solutions. We are now working with furniture manufacturers, from whom we recover off-cuts.
This allows us to provide large quantities of off-cuts (1′ to 4′) in solid wood (walnut, oak, maple, cherry). All these pieces are at the same price, 4$ per square foot, whatever the thickness. That’s still cheaper than before, where walnut was $18 per square foot 😊.
And beyond these nice trims, all solid woods will now be listed in sq ft, to make your life easier. Tired of calculating in PMP!
Thanks to all of you for coming to build and fabricate with us, and we look forward to seeing you again for a new project!
