Where to start if it is my first personal project at Les Affûtés?

It’s possible to work on a personal projet in our locals, but the steps to do it differs form one domain to another.

Artisanal Work – Sewing

If you wish to start a customed sewing project, it is preferable to know how to use the sewing machine on your own, as no sewing sharpener will be on-site. If you do know how to use a sewing machine, you can directly book a workbench for artisanal work and start your project. If you don’t we encourage you to take at least one group workshop to learn the basics before starting your personal project. Throughout your personal project, you might also be interested in booking a labo-fûté, a personalized workshop where you can receive help on the steps of your project that are more difficult to you.

Artisanal Work – Stained Glass

If you wish to start a customed stained glass project, it is required to have completed a training or course in stained glass offered by Les Affûtés. Afterwards, you can book a workbench to work by yourself on your project. As for the sewing projects, you can also book labo-fûté in stained glass to receive personalized help on your project by our stained glass sharpener.

Wood Project

For wood projects, the first step is to book a session with a coach, weither you are a total beginner or completely autonomous. This appointment can be used to receive help on planing and designing your project, as well as training to learn how to use the machines for your project.

Once you feel confortable with the machines you need, you can book a workbench to start to work autonomously.
