A committed structure
Les Affûtés emerged as a response to planned obsolescence and the buy-it-quickly-throw-it-away culture. It’s essential to change our ways of doing things, we now know this well, and we believe we can make our contribution by helping everyone become more independent and thus better able to make and repair their own objects.
B CORP
Les Affûtés is a B Corp certified company, the most recognized certification for social and environmental responsibility. We are deeply involved: carbon offsetting, circular economy for our raw materials, local suppliers, etc.
JUSTICE
Getting involved also means providing fair compensation to our trainers, allowing them to make a living from their passion.
KINDNESS
The mission of Les Affûtés is to make manual skills accessible to everyone. We would never mock someone who doesn’t know how to hold a drill. On the contrary, we would be proud to show them how to use it.
Want to know more ?
Once we have received your request, we will contact you within 48 hours to discuss your project in more detail. We will also share our detailed brochures, so that together we can choose the ideal formula for your event!

Frequently asked questions about our workshops for schools and universities
Find answers to the most common questions about our workshops for school groups here. Can’t find what you’re looking for?
What is the price of a school group workshop at Les Affûtés?
Pricing depends on the number of participants, the duration, and the workshop chosen. Weekday sessions (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm) start at $840 (+tax). A management fee of $45 per workshop applies when booking two or more simultaneous workshops.
Preferential rates for school and university groups may apply.
What grade levels do you offer school activities for?
Our workshops are available for students aged 12 and up, starting from high school level. We also welcome college and university groups, including groups of newcomers as part of integration programs. Each workshop is designed to adapt to the profile and interests of the group.
Can you adapt the workshop content to our school program or curriculum?
Yes, where possible. We can adapt some of our existing workshops to better fit your pedagogical context. Additional fees may apply depending on the level of customization required.
Contact us to discuss your project and see what we can put together.
Where are Les Affûtés located?
Can multiple classes do the same workshop at the same time?
We only have space and equipment for one workshop at a time, per subject. We can organize several different workshops simultaneously.
Can workshops be offered in a bilingual format?
Although most of our artisans are bilingual, the length of the workshops means that we can’t provide all the information in both languages. You must therefore choose a main language.
Do all workshops have the same group capacity?
The maximum capacity of our workshops varies according to location and subject. We can accommodate from 10 to 15 people per group.
How far in advance should we book a school trip or activity?
We recommend booking as early as possible. Late May tends to be our busiest period for school groups, as it often coincides with end-of-year budget approvals and activities. Planning a few months ahead will give you more flexibility on available dates and workshop choices.
