In this 4-hour workshop, we’ll cover the basics of woodturning by creating an elegant spice mill that can hold peppers, coriander, salts and chillies of all kinds!

We’ll discover the wood lathe, its functions and associated tools. We’ll then take a look at the basic techniques of interlocking turning and the various stages involved in making an object: drawing, using roughing and profiling gouges, tracing, profiling, understanding sanding and preparing the piece for finishing. Once the base has been turned, the mill mechanism will be installed. You’ll be able to choose from a range of designs to create a unique object.

In this 3-hour workshop, Isabelle will introduce us to the world of pyrography and help us create a personalized wall key holder!

We’ll discover the basics of this decorative art: the equipment needed; tracing and transferring a sketch; the different methods of pyrography; and the right types of tips to use. We’ll then practice the fundamental techniques of tracing, shading and filling on solid wood, to bring texture and relief to our work.

Each participant will have a choice of several models and can bring a personal drawing (maximum dimensions 4 x 5 in.).

In this 4-hour workshop, basketry craftswoman Fabienne Clément immerses us in the world of basketry, making a large storage basket with wooden handles! This beautiful, customizable basket, made from natural materials, will be ready to hold linens, children’s toys, pets, books or vegetables from the garden.

We’ll cover the various basic techniques for weaving and tightening rattan. We’ll learn continuous finger-weaving from a closed woven base. Wooden handles and a touch of color will also be added (several colors available).
