Would you like to discover the creative world of resin? Would you like to learn how to work with epoxy to create decorative, practical and personalized objects?

In this 3-hour workshop, Ricardo will take us through all the steps involved in manipulating epoxy resin to make a set of 3 matching or mismatched trinket dishes! After an introduction to this decorative art, we’ll learn about the different types of resin, molds and pigments, and their uses.

We’ll start with techniques for manipulating and coloring resin to create objects in silicone molds. Then it’s time to get creative and create unique decorations! Everyone can choose their own color scheme and effects, and add glitter, dried flowers, small rocks, etc. Once the decorations have been chosen, the resin will be mixed, poured into the molds and finished.

Feel free to bring your own decorative elements (tree leaves, dried flowers, rocks, beads, pieces of wood, glass, ceramics, jewelry…) to personalize your projects!

Each person will create a set of 3 trinket dishes, in a variety of shapes and sizes, and in the colors of their choice!

Note: a drying period is required after the workshop. Your projects will be dropped off at Affûtés Village a few days later.

Tired of working at your kitchen table? Would you like a dedicated space to make your work more comfortable?

This 12-hour course (4 x 3-hour sessions), led by our workshop leader Guillaume, will give you the opportunity to learn more about making an elegant wall-mounted desk.

This course will give you a good mix of theory and practice to develop your passion for wood furniture making!

During these sessions, we’ll discover the basic techniques for building a wall-mounted desk on two side legs. The piece of furniture will be fitted with a formwork that will serve as storage for your work accessories.

We’ll take a look at various techniques, including working with solid wood, cutting plywood panels, assembly and finishing, and we’ll finish off by making a hanging system (French key).

We’ll also take the opportunity to learn how to use various machines and tools, such as the saw bench, planer, pneumatic nailer, router, deburrer, fixed and orbital sanders and miter saw.

To enable you to move your furniture forward, 4 hours of independent use of the workshop will be offered to you, in addition to the 12 hours of lessons.

Skills required: accessible to beginners, this workshop is open to all.

In this 6-hour course (2 sessions of 3 hours each), Kathryn takes us into the world of recycled fabrics and offers us a great alternative for reusing our fabric scraps: create a unique, personalized wadded cotton garment from scraps of various shapes and colors!

We’ll cover all the basics of sewing:

– Session 1: choosing, cutting and assembling scraps.

– Session 2: reading a pattern, cutting fabric, stitching, assembling a sleeve, collar or finishing.

In this 3-hour workshop, Jesse will introduce you to the fluffy world of wool felting, and help you make beautiful felted soaps! We’ll be using the water felting technique, which allows us to quickly create resistant textiles, without knitting or weaving, using the natural qualities of wool. Water, heat, soap and rubbing join the fibers together. The resulting felted soap will last longer, while gently exfoliating the skin.

Each participant will be able to felt 2 soaps (previously made by our soap-maker), and will have a choice of wool colors and design ideas.

In this 3-hour workshop, we’ll learn the basics of sewing by making a warm, comfortable and customizable item that will take you through the winter: a lined hooded neck warmer (balaclava)! We’ll discover how to thread a sewing machine, how to work with thick fabrics, the basics of lined work and how to topstitch.

The fabrics used for this workshop come mainly from the circular economy. Everyone will have a choice of materials and colors, which vary from workshop to workshop!

Would you like to learn how to work with leather and create something practical and fun? Would you like to add a touch of nature to your key ring?

In this 3-hour workshop, Alexis will help you make an animal-themed leather key ring! We’ll start by learning about the various tools and techniques involved in basic leatherwork, using materials from the circular economy. Once you’ve chosen your pattern and leather pieces, you’ll start cutting, perforating, hand-stitching and stuffing to create a personalized key ring.

Each participant will have a choice of 4 animal patterns, as well as several colors of leather and thread.

Would you like to learn how to work with wood, while making a game to liven up your evenings with friends?

In this 3-hour workshop, Romain, head cabinetmaker, will guide us through the making of a wood and leather game board with a leather pocket for dice.

You’ll also learn how to use a hand drill, miter saw, drill press, router, sandblaster and (re)discover different woodworking techniques. We’ll also be working with leather to make the little pouch.
