During this 3-hour workshop, we’ll discover all the secrets of pattern reading and possible adjustments.

We will learn different aspects of pattern making such as
– How to read a pattern and identify the different parts
– Adapting the pattern to your morphology
– Establish a cutting plan with or without sewing values
– Understand all the assembly steps

Skills required: none, except for curiosity and the desire to learn.

If you have a pattern at home, feel free to bring it along, and we’ll decipher it together.

Introduction to basketry – Making a basket pouch

Would you like to learn basketry? The craft of making objects by weaving or intertwining materials is not only enjoyable, but in the end, you’ll have something practical too!

Fabienne Clément, basketry craftswoman, will accompany us in the making of a pretty pouch, with a cotton strap, ideal for picking herbs, small fruits, mushrooms, or as an interior decoration depending on the season!

Perfect as an introduction to basketry, this 3.5-hour workshop will be an opportunity to discover the different techniques of weaving and tightening rattan. You will learn how to finger weave, continuously, from a closed braided base and insert a cotton braid in your choice of color.

Introduction to mosaic – making a trivet

You would like to learn the art of mosaic but you don’t know where to start? Would you like to express your creativity while making a useful everyday object?

This workshop is for you! Over the course of 3 hours, Ricardo will guide you through all the necessary steps to create a mosaic. After a presentation on the art of mosaicing, you will have time to create a mosaic design and choose colors to create a personalized trivet. After an introduction to the different types of tools used for mosaicing, you will begin cutting the pieces with pliers. You’ll be taught several techniques for placing and installing tesserae, as well as handling grout and cement glue. You will then move on to adding the finishing touches to the project!

Creativity is welcome in this workshop, you can come with a design idea or a drawing.

Skills required: none, this workshop is open to all and is ideal for a parent-child moment (minimum age 12)!

Introduction to Leatherwork – Making a card holder

Do you want to learn about leather work? Are you always losing your Opus card at the bottom of your bag?

This 3-hour workshop led by Diana, a leatherworker by profession, will be a great opportunity to discover this discipline. You will learn different basic techniques to make your first leather project: cutting and gluing the material, marking and opening the stitches, hand sewing with a waxed thread, and painting the edges for the finishing touch.

Each participant will have the choice of several types and colors of leather. The material used in this workshop comes from the leather scraps of a sofa manufacturing company.

During this 3-hour workshop, we will discover all the steps to make a solid shampoo and a creamy conditioner, to take care of your hair at all times! We will learn about the properties of the different raw materials used in the manufacturing of natural products; we will discover which vegetable oils and butters to choose according to the nature of our hair; and we will handle SCI and an emulsifying wax.

Each participant will leave with a 100g bar of solid shampoo, the mould to reproduce it at home, as well as a 200g revitalizing mask. Everything will be personalized according to your needs and desires!

This 4 to 5-hour class will allow you to discover the secrets of rattan tightening. You will learn the technique of continuous weaving with an airy woven base.
You will learn how to finish the basket with a border and insert straps to transform the basket into a backpack.

This basket is also perfect for the market, flower picking, and hiking.
