Would you like to freshen up the paint on your walls using the best techniques? Does painting always seem like a chore to you, and you’d like to know the painter’s tricks to make the task more pleasant?

In this 3-hour workshop, Mélanie, a professional painter, will show you all the steps involved in interior painting for a quality result.

We’ll discuss how to achieve the desired result by making the right choices of tools, primer, paint quality and finish.

In the practical part of the workshop, we’ll learn how to fill small holes to camouflage them permanently, how to make a latex seal, how to cut a dark color and how to cut carefully with adhesive tape.

Skills: none required. This workshop is open to everyone.

Wood and mosaic training – creating a bi-material coffee table

Would you like to make your own solid wood coffee table and add a touch of color? Would you like to impress your friends by showing them what you can do?

In this 2-session course (4-hr each), you’ll discover two different skills, through the creation of a single object: a bi-material coffee table, in wood and mosaic. Most of the materials used come from the circular economy.

Session 1 (4 hr) will provide an opportunity to discover woodworking using various machines such as: press drill ; miter saws; hand drills; and sanders. We’ll also cover measuring, gluing and finishing techniques.

Session 2 (4 hr) immerses us into the world of decorative mosaics, to bring a unique creative touch to our project. After reviewing the steps involved in creating a mosaic, we’ll take the time to think about the design and choose the colors to create a personalized mosaic. We’ll then discover the right tools, how to cut the pieces using pliers, and techniques for installing the tesserae, gluing and finalizing the project.

Wool felting – making a Christmas ornament

In this 3-hour workshop, Jesse will introduce you to the delicate world of wool felting, and help you create pretty, personalized Christmas ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree or place on a festive table! You’ll discover the different types of wool available, as well as the needle felting technique, which creates three-dimensional sculptures with a soft texture. After a practical test, we’ll get down to drawing our project, then felting in several layers!

Everyone will leave with a set of needles, to create a whole collection of Christmas decorations at home.

Linocut – create your own gift wrap

Would you like to create your own gift wrap? Would you like to learn linocut printing techniques and create your own personalized packaging?

During this 4-hour workshop, Sarah will take us into the delicate world of stationery. Everyone will have the opportunity to design and print their own gift wrap, to please every occasion! After reviewing the necessary tools and materials, we’ll take the time to choose our designs and transfer the motif onto the linoleum block. We’ll then move on to sculpting the motif by hand, followed by printing on the paper.

Each participant will leave with a sample of printed paper, a 3m long roll of paper, and their carved print, to continue printing at home!
