The woodworking course was created to help you deepen your knowledge. In this 6 session course, you will carry out a complex project, and discover everything to become autonomous.

In Level 1, you will learn about all the machines and then make a stool/stepladder.

Through the 6 sessions, you will see:

  • The planer, jointer, bench saw
  • The miter saw, scroll saw, band saw, drill press
  • The gluing techniques
  • The wood and its applied technical properties
  • The art of finishing, products, and techniques

In addition to the 6 sessions, the Wood Course gives you free access to 8 hours of workshop time, to work on your project between sessions.

The evening sessions are held once a week, over 6 consecutive weeks – on the same day at the same time.

Do you want to make your own fine jewelry? Would you like to learn how to work with wood to start your own projects?

This workshop, led by Laurence, cabinetmaker, and artist at heart, is an opportunity to combine woodworking and jewelry making. In this 3-hour workshop, you will make a pendant or a pair of earrings completely customizable according to your tastes, all while learning to use the band saw, the drill, to sand different species of wood, and to do the finishing touches.

Skills required: curiosity and meticulousness!

Do you want to work with all types of wood, starting with rough lumber and ending up with beautiful, smooth boards that you can use for all your budding cabinetmaker projects?

This third and final stage of this induction to woodworking will focus on the work of the planer and jointer, the two tools used to prepare rough lumber. This course will cover the thorough use of the machines, the correct gestures to prepare the wood, and the techniques for gluing the wood once it is prepared.

NB: It is not necessary to do the enthronements in order.

Do you want to become independent on all types of woodworking machines? Do you want to know how to instinctively pick and use the right tool, no matter the project?

This first step of this Woodworking Induction will take you through the operation of the workshop and show you how to use essential machines such as the mitre saw, band saw, drill press, sanders. This will give you an understanding of how to set up and operate these machines and the risks involved.

Skills required: None, this workshop is open to beginners as well as to those who want to deepen their knowledge and be able to use the machines independently for their projects.

Do you want to master the most impressive machine of all, the bench saw, so you can make all the cuts you want?

This 3-hour introductory workshop will focus on the uses of this machine: the bench saw, an indispensable woodworking tool. We’ll look at the physics of this machine, the safe way to use it, the different blades, the different uses you can have, and most of all, we’ll practice a lot!

Skills: none, everyone is welcome!

The price includes all necessary knowledge and supervised practice.

How do you weave a basket? Would you like to learn basketry techniques to make a well-finished basket that lasts over time?

Fabienne Clément, basketry craftswoman, will share her know-how with you by guiding you through different techniques for weaving and tightening rattan.
Perfect for beginners or to offer as a gift, over the course of 3 hours you will learn to make a basket, ideal to hold bread, fruits, or any other small objects.

You will learn different processes such as: starting your weaving row by row from a round wooden base, inserting colored rattan strands, and finishing your basket with a border.

The price includes all materials and tools needed, plus great tips from Fabienne!

How do you make a pegboard? How do you go from a simple wooden board to a well-finished piece of furniture? How do you make it look nice and professional?

This workshop is here to answer all these questions by teaching you how to build a useful and modular piece of furniture. You will learn various woodworking skills: cutting with a band saw, using a drill press, rounding your board with a router, sanding, building a French cleat, and more!

Required knowledge: zero. Only a good attitude, perseverance, and a love of wood!

In this three-hour workshop, you will learn how to make a comfortable cat teepee. You’ll learn several woodworking techniques in the process: cutting with a jigsaw, sanding, assembling with screws and dowels, and making accessories.

Would you like to learn how to make your own kitchen utensils? Would you like to discover wood carving, an art that so many people enjoy?

With the expertise of Yannick, a woodworker and bushcraft enthusiast, you will learn how to use carving techniques to make a wooden spoon.

In this three-hour workshop, you will cover the basics of carving, safety measures, learning the craft techniques of shaping and finishing, and carving your first spoon yourself.

Do you eat your bread cold, because your toaster has become temperamental? And is it so complicated to repair yourself when it stops working?

This 3-hour theoretical and practical workshop will teach you diagnostic and repair techniques for common appliances (kettle, toaster, drill, coffee maker…). You’ll have a chance to take an appliance apart, and we’ll then analyze how it works.

For educational reasons, it will not be possible to repair appliances brought from home.

The workshop will cover the following topics:
– Basic principles of safe working and personal protective equipment (PPE).
– The function of the main electrical and mechanical components of small household appliances, and how to check them.
– Analysis of typical electrical diagrams for a number of small appliances.
– Multimeter: understand how it works to check electrical components such as switches, diodes, thermostat, potentiometer, motor, heating element.
– Troubleshooting, repair techniques and their application to various household appliances.
– Tools needed for repairs, how to use them and set up a toolbox.
– The various parts and consumables needed to repair small appliances: switches, fuses, plugs, connectors, cleaners, bulbs, heating elements, tin, heat-shrink tubing, connection caps, etc.
– Resources for obtaining reference information and purchasing parts and tools.

To make sure you have time to cover all the material, if you bring an electro from home, a diagnosis of the problem can be made, if time permitting.
