Do you find that your hot chocolate tastes much better outside, and would you like to make more of it when camping or at the cottage in any season?

This combustion stove uses 39% to 49%* less fuel than an open fire. It’s perfect for warming up a comforting drink or a tasty dish by the fire, outdoors.

During this 4-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to weld our mini rocket stove model:

– Understanding the physics (distortion, temperature…)

– Theory and practice of electrode welding

– Finishing grinding

The total dimension of the object is 9“ high x 9” long x 6” wide (including legs and pan support).

Skills required: have already done the Introduction to Soldering workshop (Soldering Fundamentals, Creative Sculpture, Coat Rack or Shelf).

Workshop includes materials, safety equipment, pro tips and sparks galore.

Note: This rocket stove is a miniature version of the one built in the 6-hour course.

You’ve already made cold-saponified soap, but don’t dare stray from your recipe? Would you like to take your skills to the next level by working on some of the must-have recipes of artisan soapmaking?

In this 3-hour workshop, we’ll (re)discover three great soapmaking classics that have stood the test of time for generations! We’ll be making two skin care recipes: Aleppo soap and Castile soap, followed by a recipe for a vegan all-purpose household soap, adapted from the famous ‘savon du pays’.

After an introduction to the ingredients and properties of these ancestral recipes, we’ll look at different techniques for incorporating natural active ingredients. These will bring even more virtues to our soaps, and allow us to personalize them! We’ll talk about medicinal plant macerates, exfoliating agents, softeners and stain removers.

Everyone will leave with 6 soaps (2 from each recipe), adapted to their needs and scented to their liking.

Skills required: previous experience of soapmaking or cold-saponified soapmaking.

Price includes all necessary materials and lots of useful tips!

Skills required: previous attendance at a bike workshop to learn the basics of bike maintenance (we won’t go back over the basics).

The Labo-Fûtés are small group workshops that allow you to go further in your project, while benefiting from personalized support, thanks to the expertise of our Sharpeners.

In this Lab, limited to 6 participants, Arnaud, our bike mechanic, will be there to guide you through your project.

To attend, you’ll need to come with a personal project, or with a project you’ve already started (maintenance, repair, tuning). Arnaud will be able to give you advice as you go along, and help you with a step that’s holding you up.

The tools will be made available to you, but note that you’ll need to bring all the consumables you’ll need (brake cables and/or pads, tubes, tires, parts, etc.).

It’s possible to come to the Village on the opening day for autonomy, to use the tools on your own ($9/hr).

You have already tried your hand at stained glass and you have been dreaming of creating a lampshade since the dawn of time? Or you’d simply like to go one step further and take on a technical challenge that will enable you to light up your own home?

In this course of 6 x 3h sessions, you’ll use all the notions learned in your previous introductory workshops to create this pendant lampshade, as well as exploring new aspects of the art.

  • Day 1: Glass selection, cutting and grinding of 18 pieces
  • Day 2: Piece cleaning and copper tape wrapping
  • Day 3: Flat soldering of the lampshade panels and flux cleaning
  • Day 4: 3D assembly, addition of reinforcements and cleaning
  • Day 5: Continuation and completion of what was started in day 4
  • Day 6: Solder cleaning, patina application, rinsing, drying and waxing

At the end of the course, you’ll leave with your own creation!

Skills required: You must have already taken at least one beginner’s course in stained glass (here), as we don’t cover the basics due to lack of time. It’s highly recommended to have taken part in several stained glass workshops, not just the initiation, especially if you’ve only taken part in one of the 4-hour beginner’s workshops (Christmas balls or geometric heart) held in autumn 2022.

The price includes tools, glass, pattern, electric cord to make a hanging light, and the good advice of our stained-glass artist.

In order to ensure the quality of the final result and the feasibility of the workshop within the time and price constraints, no shape variants are available, and you will not be allowed to design your own pattern. Glass of different colors, opacities and textures will be made available to you.
