Do you dream of a tunic dress you can wear all year round? Would you like to learn how to make a garment?
In this 6-hour course (2 sessions of 3 hours each), we’ll plunge into the world of fabric upcycling to make a beautiful tunic dress! You’ll be able to personalize your project by choosing your fabric from a varied selection of scraps. We’ll cover the basics of sewing and how to use a sewing machine and serger. We’ll also learn a whole range of garment design techniques!
Course 1: threading and setting up a machine; tracing a pattern and cutting fabric; assembling and sewing several layers together; practicing straight and curved seams.
Course 2: fitting sleeves; topstitching; finishing seams with the serger; trimming; and hemming.
Skills required: none, this workshop is open to anyone interested in reusing materials.
The price includes all necessary materials, beautiful, colorful fabrics and lots of advice!
NB: Workshop time is indicative, and may take longer for some participants. We therefore recommend that you don’t schedule an appointment right afterwards!
The training sessions on Saturday November 16 will take place on the same day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Don’t forget your lunch.
