Want to discover Korean cuisine and learn how to prepare comforting, flavourful dishes that stand out from the ordinary? This workshop is a deep dive into three iconic favourites: Bibimbap, Hotteok, and Pajeon.
We’ll start by preparing the dough for hotteok, a beloved Korean street food known for its golden exterior and warm, gooey caramelized filling. While the dough rests, you’ll learn how to prepare marinated beef and slice the vegetables that will make up your bibimbap.
Next, you’ll discover how to cook and season each topping to create a colourful, balanced, and flavour-packed bibimbap. You’ll learn how to organize your prep work, use different cooking techniques, and combine textures that make this Korean classic so satisfying.
We’ll then move on to making pajeon, savoury Korean pancakes filled with vegetables. Special attention will be given to batter consistency and cooking techniques to achieve a crispy exterior and tender interior.
To finish, you’ll shape and cook the hotteok before filling them with their signature sweet mixture. It’s a simple and approachable technique that you’ll be able to recreate easily at home.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll build a strong foundation in Korean cooking, including marinades, seasoning, vegetable preparation, cooking techniques, and flavour balance.
All ingredients and equipment are provided. No experience is required — this workshop is open to anyone curious about cooking.
Note: Please bring three containers of approximately 500 ml each to take your preparations home, as well as bags for transportation.
