Do you want to get out of your kitchen and better understand the ingredients you use? Are you looking to cook with fresh, local, seasonal products while discovering the producers behind them?
During this full-day workshop, Clément takes you on an immersive experience at Jean-Talon Market. We’ll start with a stroll through the market to explore the stands, chat with producers, and learn how to choose the best products of the moment.
Back in the kitchen, it’s time to get hands-on: using what we’ve gathered, we’ll cook seasonal dishes together, highlighting local ingredients. Fish, fresh vegetables, herbs, Québec products… the menu evolves based on what’s available and the inspiration of the day.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll learn how to select fresh, high-quality products at the market, cook fish and seasonal vegetables, prepare flavorful bases like juices and different cooking methods, and simply balance textures and flavors.
All equipment, ingredients, and guidance are included. No experience required—the workshop is open to anyone curious and passionate about good food.
The day unfolds in two parts: about 3 hours at the market, followed by a 1-hour break (including travel time), then a 3-hour cooking workshop.
Schedule: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., then 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Note: Please bring your own containers as well as reusable shopping bags to carry your products. A tasting is planned at the end of the workshop, but no full meal will be served—don’t forget your lunch!
