Do you want to learn screen printing on textiles? Do you dream of transforming your own printed fabric into a unique garment or accessory?
This multi-skill course is for you!
During this course consisting of 4 sessions of 3 hours each, you will learn two different skills, screen printing, and sewing.
In the first part of the course (2 sessions) Anne-Laure, screen printer of ”Grand A petit b”, will teach you the basics of screen printing. You will practice different techniques such as the creation and repetition of patterns. You will learn how to prepare your own screen printing frame and then get to print your design with quality water-based ink onto cotton fabric.
In the second part of the course (2 sessions), Léa, a talented seamstress, will help us transform our fabric into something special. You will learn different techniques, covering, of course, the fundamentals of sewing, the process of making a garment or accessory, adjusting a pattern, cutting, assembling, placing an invisible bias, placing a pocket, finishing…
We will have the choice to make either a loose-fitting jacket or a bag (see photo).
Skills required: none, beginners are welcome!
The price of the workshop includes all necessary materials, ink, frame, fabric, and the advice of two professionals!
PS: for the screen printing sessions, feel free to come with an apron or an old t-shirt.
NB: The workshop time is indicative, and it may take longer for some participants. We, therefore, recommend that you do not schedule an appointment right after!
Sessions will be held on Fridays, February 11th, 18th, 25th, and March 4th, from 6 to 9 p.m.
