This 3-hour workshop with a passionate sharpener will give you all the skills you need to practice at home and give your knives an exceptional edge.
We will cover different sharpening techniques such as:
– How to give the right angle to the blade on a stone,
– How to get the right movement and pressure,
– Why and how to create a morfil and how to make it disappear,
– When to change the stone and how to maintain it,
– How to polish your blade.
The practice will be framed by theoretical explanations: you will learn more about the types of steel and the types of stone. You will learn to recognize what a carbon knife is compared to a stainless steel knife. You will also understand why some blades are more difficult to sharpen than others.
Skill requirements: none, this workshop is ideal for beginners.
You can bring 2 to 3 knives of different types and 1 to 2 pairs of scissors.
