Would you like to unravel the mysteries of ceramic glazing but don’t know where to start? Would you like to add a personal touch to your aperitifs with friends?
During this 3-hour workshop, Ricardo will introduce us to the basics of ceramic enamel, through the creation of a set of 6 personalized coasters to brighten up our tables!
After a presentation of this decorative art which consists in mixing fine powders, mainly silica, and melting them at high temperature to form a layer or a waterproof coating, we will discover the tools necessary to realize a glazed project.
We will learn about the techniques of cutting and handling clay, its drying and preparation. We will go through the different techniques and their results, then take the time to choose the colors that we will then apply by hand, in order to obtain unique objects.
Everyone will create a set of 6 coasters, round or square, in the colors of their choice! Firing will be done on site after the workshop and your projects will be dropped off at Affûtés Village a few days later.
Skills required: none, except a little curiosity.
The price includes all the necessary materials and precious professional advice from Ricardo!
The workshop will be held at the Montreal Tile Lab studio, on Promenade Masson. We will communicate the exact address after registration.
