Would you like to discover the mysteries of the art of ceramic enameling? Would you like to learn about enameling and create a unique and refined decorative object?

In this 3-hour workshop, Ricardo will take us through all the steps to create a set of personalized enamel discs, which can represent the phases of the moon or the solar system.

After a presentation of this decorative art that consists of mixing fine powders, mainly silica, and melting them at high temperatures to form a layer or waterproof coating, we will discover the tools needed to create an enamel project.

We will learn about the techniques of cutting and handling clay, its drying and preparation. We will go through the different techniques and their results, then take the time to choose the colors that we will then apply by hand, in order to obtain unique objects.

Each person will create a set of personalized discs. Firing will be done on site after the workshop and your projects will be dropped off at the Village Sharpeners a few days later.

Skills required: none, except a little curiosity.

The price includes all the necessary materials and valuable pro tips from Ricardo!

The workshop will be held at the Montreal Tile Lab studio, on Promenade Masson. We will communicate the exact address after registration.
