Do silver jewels make you melt with wonder, and do you think a ring of your own creation would add a touch of elegance and personality to one of your fingers?
In this 2 x 3h course, you’ll learn additive wax carving, i.e. using a heated pen-like tool, gradually adding wax to shape your ring. This age-old technique gives you the creative freedom to create unique, organic shapes according to your imagination.
Once your model has been completed in the first session, it will be entrusted to a professional caster, who will transform it into sterling silver using the lost-wax casting process.
You’ll pick up your cast ring at the second session, a week later, for the finishing touches: sawing, filing, emery and polishing, until you have a sparkling piece of jewelry ready to wear!
You can think in advance about the organic shape you’d like your ring to take, but there will be design proposals on site, if you prefer.
Experience required: none. This course is open to beginners and silver lovers alike.
The price includes all materials and advice from a professional jeweller.
Please note that silver casting will not be done during this course (but the price is included). It will be carried out between the two sessions by a professional caster.
