Pottery wheel and wood lathe – Learn to turn a small ceramic pot with its wooden lid

Would you like to learn about pottery and woodworking to create a unique object? Are you curious to discover the difference between turning ceramics and wood?

For this workshop, Les Faiseurs & les Affûtés have joined forces to offer you two workshops to make a beautiful ceramic pot with a wooden lid. You will have the opportunity to turn the ceramic pot (with the Makers) and the wooden lid on the wood lathe (with the Sharpeners – Village) to make a unique and personalized set.

– Workshop 1: Turning the ceramic pot.

Date and place: Wednesday, November 1 at Les Faiseurs, 6564 St-Laurent Boulevard, Montreal.

Duration: 2h30

During this throwing session, you will make a few tests on the wheel with the help of our teacher and you will be able to choose your most beautiful piece. This pottery workshop is suitable for beginners as well as the more experienced. The teacher will adapt her teaching to the level of the participants.

– Workshop 2: Turning the wooden lid.

Date and place: Wednesday, November 15, at Les Affûtés Village, 1385 Ontario Street E, Montreal.

Duration: 3 hours

During this workshop, we will discover the basics of woodturning with Chloé, a passionate woodturner and cabinetmaker. She will teach us the ABC’s of woodturning and how to use the tools to make your lid fit perfectly on your pot.

Skills required: none, all curious are welcome!

The price includes all materials and good advice.
