Have you ever wanted to give drawing and painting a try, but thought you didn’t have the talent for it? Can you already see the magic of expression through shapes, colors, and strokes confidently placed on paper?
In these 6 sessions of 3h, guided by a professional illustrator, you’ll discover that with a few good techniques, drawing and painting are accessible to anyone who wants to create! It’s also a wonderful way to develop a fresh perspective on the world around you.
Through hands-on practice with pencil and brush, we’ll gradually learn the fundamentals of perspective, anatomy, and color, helping you build confidence in your artistic skills.
Over the six weeks, we’ll work with graphite and watercolour pencils, watercolour, gouache, and acrylic paint:
- – Session 1 — Perspective: Simple Objects
An introduction to perspective through drawing simple objects using graphite pencils. - – Session 2 — Colour Theory & Painting Techniques
Exploring value and saturation, the colour wheel, and the fundamentals of painting. - – Session 3 — Perspective, Level 2: Landscape
Taking perspective further by creating a landscape using watercolour and watercolour pencils. - – Session 4 — Basic Anatomy: The Portrait
An introduction to facial proportions and anatomy, using a freehand drawing technique. - – Session 5 — Anatomy: Animals & Dynamic Poses
Exploring proportions and movement through drawings of animals and figures in dynamic poses. - – Session 6 — Final Project: Creating a Canvas Painting
Putting everything you’ve learned into practice by creating a final artwork on canvas, from the initial sketch to the finished piece.
At the end of the six weeks, you’ll take home your canvas, your practice sketchbooks, and plenty of ideas to continue exploring your artistic journey.
The program includes all materials, guidance from a professional artist, and maybe even your very first masterpiece!
