Develop your gardening skills with this workshop focused on urban farming and food self-sufficiency. Designed for both beginners and curious ones, this workshop provides you with all the basics you need to grow your own vegetables in the city, simply and effectively.
With step-by-step guidance, you’ll learn to master the essentials of urban gardening: choosing soil, containers, and seeds; managing light and watering; and best practices for starting seedlings and successfully transplanting them.
The workshop also covers various methods for growing in limited space, identifying insect pests and common diseases, as well as practical solutions for protecting and caring for your plants. We’ll share a few tips for limiting the (somewhat overzealous) visits from our famous squirrel friends.
You’ll also be introduced to propagation, repotting, and care techniques to optimize the growth of your crops.
A hands-on session will allow you to design a container garden with a selection of edible plants*, applying the concepts covered during the workshop. You’ll leave with solid knowledge and practical tools to start or improve your own vegetable garden.
No experience is required. The price includes all necessary materials as well as personalized guidance throughout the workshop.
*Vegetables available depending on availability.
