Would you like to make your own candles from scratch? Would you like to learn the techniques of ceramic shaping and the tricks of the trade to produce your own vegetable wax candles?

For this course, the Makers & the Sharpeners are joining forces to offer you two workshops to make candles. You will have the opportunity to shape both the ceramic pots (with the Makers), and the candles that will be inside (with the Sharpeners).

– Workshop 1: shaping your pots

Date and place: Wednesday, October 11, from 6pm to 9pm, at the Makers, 6564 St-Laurent Boulevard, Montreal.

Using the shaping technique (creating by hand), you will make two ceramic candle containers. You will explore the pinched pot technique, as well as draping to make pots to your liking. It will be possible to decorate your containers using different techniques. The pots will then be fired and glazed by the Makers to be ready for the second workshop.

– Workshop 2: Making your own candles

Date and place: Wednesday October 25, from 6 pm to 9pm, at Les Affûtés Village – 1385 Ontario Street E, Montreal.

This 3-hour workshop will be an opportunity to discover the basics of making handmade candles in containers. We will learn about the different waxes, how to choose the right wick, how to color your candles with natural pigments and how to scent them.
Each participant will make 2 natural candles with vegetable waxes, depending on the desired use!

Skills required: none, all curious and candlelight lovers are welcome!

The price includes all the material and advice needed to make candles at home.
