Do you want to get off the beaten track and explore the wilderness safely? Are you a hiking enthusiast who has always dreamed of heading out into the unknown with a map and a compass?

During this 4-hour workshop, Arnaud will introduce you to the fundamentals of outdoor orienteering! You will learn how to:

Use a compass;
Read a topographic map and everything on it;
Take an azimuth reading;
Calculate the magnetic declination to plot a route;
Use your sense of observation!

You will then combine all of this knowledge to practice navigating with our tools and develop skills that will allow you to plan your next hikes like pros!

Skills required: none, except for energy and a well-developed sense of adventure!

The price includes all necessary materials, lots of practice, and lots of advice.

This workshop will be held outdoors, so it is important to bring appropriate clothing for the weather, a bottle of water and snacks.

The meeting point will be in the East end of Montreal. The exact coordinates will be communicated in the confirmation email.
