Do you want to learn how to fish for your own food in the wilderness? Perhaps setting a hook is a mystery to you and you’re afraid of skewering someone instead?

During this 3-hour workshop, you will learn the basics of sport fishing with Pierre-Yves, an experienced fisherman. You will discover how to choose your first equipment, how to attach a hook on a line, how and why to use certain lures more than others. You will then practice casting, to have the perfect technique without getting stuck in the bottom of the lake or in the branches!

Skills required: Have an interest in the outdoors and don’t have a phobia of worms and fish! The price includes all necessary equipment, lots of practice and maybe a fish or two…

P.S.: If you have your own rod, you can bring it along to familiarize yourself with it.

NB: an annual sport fishing license is required to participate in the workshop (at a cost of $24.12). The Montreal fishing license can be purchased at the following stores: Montreal license vendors or directly online here.  All information regarding the license can be found here.

This workshop will be held outdoors, so it is important to bring appropriate clothing for the weather and a bottle of water.

The meeting point will be at the Halte Notre-Dame, on the Lachine Canal. The exact coordinates will be communicated in the confirmation email.
