During this 4-hour workshop, we’ll cover the basics of woodturning by making a yoyo from wood sourced from the circular economy, to the delight of young and old alike! Making a yoyo is ideal for those who like meticulousness and precision.
You’ll learn all about the wood lathe, its functions and associated tools, such as shaping/profiling tools and calipers.
We’ll then take a look at the basic techniques of interlock turning and the various stages involved in making an object: precision measuring, assembling the mechanism, sanding on the lathe and preparing the piece for finishing.
