Do you want to create a beautiful wooden object with your own hands, something useful for everyday life and built to last? Would you like to get familiar with the basics of working with solid wood while gaining more independence?
In this 2-session, 3-hour-per-session training, you will learn the fundamentals of working with solid wood by discovering essential techniques. You will learn board gluing on battens to follow the grain of the wood correctly, cutting and precisely adjusting your pieces on the table saw with or without templates, and joinery using the straight (dado) joint technique, a classic in woodworking that combines strength and aesthetic appeal.
You will be guided step by step to understand each technique, avoid common mistakes, and leave with a box you can be proud of, but most importantly, with skills you can directly apply to your future projects.
Machines used include the table saw and pneumatic nailer (both requiring safety card validation for independent use afterward), as well as the drill press, miter saw, hand sanders, and manual router.
No prior skills are required, this workshop is open to everyone.
The material used is reclaimed wood (100% circular economy).
Box dimensions are 8 in. long × 6 in. wide × 5 in. high.
The price includes the wood, access to tools, and plenty of practical tips to continue creating at home or in the workshop.
