Want to know how to protect and enhance the natural beauty of your wood projects? Would you like to be able to apply a finish at home without poisoning the whole neighborhood?
In this 3-hour workshop, Joell will introduce us to finishing products that are free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and safe for children, pets and other living creatures that share your environment!
We’ll cover the basics of surface preparation; brush and rag application techniques; how to make your own furniture polish; and try a variety of traditional V.O.C.-free finishing techniques, such as milk paint, soap finishing, oil finishing or ferrous acetate etching!
Everyone will leave with samples of wood on which he/she has applied different finishes, the recipes for the finishes, as well as a small jar of polishing wax to give their furniture a makeover!
Skills required: none, except a little curiosity!
