Workshops
In this 3-hour workshop, accompanied by our workshop leader, you’ll create an adorable hanging wooden mobile in the shape of a small animal, with moving wings.
You’ll learn about workshop machines such as band saws, sanders and miter saws. You’ll learn how to use predefined templates, as well as some of the basics of sculpting with hand tools. You’ll also learn how to handle the drill with care.
The dimensions of the object are approximately 12“ x 12” for the animal’s body, but this will vary a little, depending on the animal model chosen on site between a whale, a dragonfly or a bird.
The total height of the mobile, including the rope and suspension rod, will be around 30”.
Skills required: none. Open to all, this kinetic object is the perfect opportunity to discover the basics of woodworking.
The workshop includes wood, materials and tools, plus plenty of advice from a professional cabinetmaker.
