Wood class – Advanced woodworking techniques

Do you have a keen interest in woodworking and would like to learn more about this fascinating discipline? Would you like to bring a woodworking project to fruition, and have the skills and safety required to produce a work of art that lives up to your dreams?

The Wood Class is a unique 36-hour formula (12 sessions of 3 hours each), which allows you to immerse yourself in the world of woodworking in depth. It’s our most comprehensive training course on the subject!

Perfect as an introduction to woodworking, but also highly relevant for those with experience, or who have already taken courses with us and would like to take their knowledge further.

Over a period of 12 sessions, through the completion of various exercises, you will learn :
– How to safely operate the following machines: band saw; miter saw; saw bench; jointer; planer; table router and plunger; pneumatic nailers; cookie jointer; and even the wood lathe!
– Various advanced skills and techniques, such as: use of hand tools; blueprint reading and creation; jig creation; assembly; finishing techniques.

This learning will be enhanced by the creation of a project, with the support of our team of workshop leaders (project selected from an idea bank or possibility of personalized ideas).

In addition to class time, each student will also have 12 hours of independent work and 3 periods of 45 min individualized coaching, at a time that suits them best.

* This course does not lead to a diploma.

To top it all off and celebrate the work accomplished, we’ll be holding a small vernissage event at the end of the program!

The dates of the course (12 sessions of 3 hours each):

– Sessions will take place every Wednesday evening, at Le Village, from 6pm to 9pm, from January 29 to April 16, 2025.
