Woodturning Course – intensive training over 2 days
Would you like to discover woodturning, the most zen activity in woodworking? And learn how to make your own bowls, candleholders, table legs and thousands of other objects?
This Intensive Training Course is there for that. We take two full days to discover in depth the use of the wood lathe, and practice as much as possible under the supervision of Diana, cabinetmaker and head of the Sharpeners’ workshop. We will discover :
- the physics of the lathe and safety, the different gouges, the different types of wood, first tests, etc.
- sharpening, turning between points, making a mallet
- turning on platform, physics, specific gouge, safe operation
- the turning of a bowl
- finishing, sanding and oiling of creations
Skills required: none, except curiosity! But beware, this activity is known to be highly addictive…
Dates: Sundays, February 28th and March 7th, from 9am to 5pm. (don’t forget to bring your lunch!)
