Course – Making a solid wood chair
You already have some knowledge and independence in woodworking, but you want to give yourself a new challenge? Would you like to work on a larger project that is still useful in your daily life?
Then this course is for you!
A chair is not a simple object, it is a design, but also ergonomics. By completing this course, you will have a good foundation to make all the chairs you need at home.
This 6 session course, led by Guillaume, our cabinetmaker, will allow you to make your first solid wood chair from raw boards.
We will cover different techniques such as: reading and understanding plans, planning the manufacturing process, preparing for machining, using project-specific templates, and complex gluing.
Type of wood used: local birch
Skills required: It is recommended to have participated in a wood induction workshop or a wood course with us.
In addition to the 6 sessions, this course gives you free access to 12 hours of independent workshop time to advance your project between sessions.
The price includes all materials and the advice of a professional woodworker.
For the course starting October 5, the sessions will take place on the same days, at the same time, for 6 consecutive weeks. (Tuesdays, October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2 and 3 from 6 to 9 pm)
