Have you always been fascinated by woodworking and dreamed of making a chair? There’s nothing ordinary about this everyday object. It’s the design that makes it beautiful, ergonomic and comfortable.
In this course of 6 x 3-hour sessions, led by Guillaume, our workshop leader, you’ll learn all the techniques needed to make your first chair, using plywood and solid wood. Numerous templates will be at your disposal. You’ll create a unique, personalized chair.
You’ll learn how to read and understand blueprints, plan production, use project-specific jigs and complex gluing techniques.
You can also expect to operate these machines. We’ll help you learn how to use them properly:
- – Bench saw
- – Band saw
- – Orbital, disc, belt and drum sanders
- – Inverted router
- – Miter saws
- – Drills, screwdrivers
Skills required: None. Beginners welcome, as well as experienced riders who want to have fun.
In addition to the 6 sessions, this course gives you free access to 6 hours of independent workshop time to advance your project between sessions.
The price includes all materials, advice from a professional wood craftsman, plus a few wood chips!
